This article was inspired by some nasty comments I got on youtube recently though it’s something that’s been on my mind for a while. There’s one thing to offer a suggestion – hey, if you want to make more money, you should try it this way. It’s another thing to insist that they way someone enjoys their kink is wrong. I see this all the time and it really irritates me. It’s kind of like the spoofs on the goth culture – where people are on the fringe trying to be different yet in the end they all are conforming to the same dress, lifestyle, etc and have to conform in order to be included. Why do I have to dress a certain way to get into a fetish club? Am I any less into what I do if I’m wearing jeans and a wifebeater? According to Bar Sinister in Los Angeles, yes I am and i need to be penalized by paying extra money. Me, Julie Simone. If I had been someone else I probably wouldn’t have even been let in.

I teach rope bondage classes and I tell my classes that what I am saying is merely a suggestion and what I’ve found works for me. I like hemp. If you like tying people with shoelaces, have at it! People shouldn’t get so hung up on rules. Yes, you should know where the nerves are so you can have all the information for your scene, but it’s not essential to not hit a nerve; one should just know with what they’re dealing.
